Last night was one of the funniest nights out I've had for ages. Went to the Soho Theatre to see Adrian Poynton's show (which was excellent) and Noel, Dee and Paul were in the bar drinking champagne cocktails. They were still propping the bar up when I came down from the show and they convinced me (I didn't need much persuading) to go to the club where Dee was Djing. And it was a ROLLER DISCO!! Come on!! Dee went and got behind the decks while the three of us traded in our shoes/boots for some roller skates. It was a bit tricky at first but I soon got the hang of it and after about 15 mins Noel beckoned us to the other side of the room and down a ramp into another room which was slightly more advanced than where Dee was DJing. The room past that was just vicious and I stood crying with laughter as Noel and Paul made their way around being intentionally cut up by pro skaters with their swanky roller blades. I fell over twice but only cos I built up quite some speed but never managed to master stopping other than by using the nearest wall to crash into. We even had to skate over to the bar and into the toilets. It was great fun and I intend to go back asap. I don't know if Paul would be too keen as he sustained a roller skating related injury.

I am exhausted and my right thigh is aching cos we were skating anti-clockwise so it was doing all the steering. Suffering but it is all my own doing so that's fine. If I'd still been temping I wouldn't have come in but seeings how I love my job so much I am here and loving every minute of it. Kathryn has been texting me about going out tonight but I just don't know if that's such a great idea. Might conserve my energy for the weekend and next week. Haven't been able to eat much or focus on anything but I felt fine when we walked into Soho this morning.

It is my boss's birthday today and I have to nip out and buy some things... One of the shows is filming nearby too so I am going to go along and have a nosey...

Fading slightly...

Good grief it's been a long time since I posted anything to my blog, and after all it's seen me through. It got me through the boredom of Northern Trust. Just. Things are going swimmingly at the moment. Job-wise I couldn't be happier. I've been taken on more or less indefinitely or until the work dries up (which it shouldn't - touch wood). I'm getting paid enough money to survive but I couldn't care less cos its brilliant and the people I work with are great. People here ask me for my ideas, and listen to what I say, and generally treat me like the comedy oracle/talent spotter that I have always been. Its sunny today and I have been out of the office shopping for production stuff for about three hours. There is one of my comedy chums in the other room working on another programme and I have a steady supply of postcards for one of the most overlooked sitcoms of recent years. I have been very busy since I last wrote. Here is what I have done, with very short descriptions.

2-4 April - Dad's 60th birthday weekend where my status within the family was elevated way above that of the golden child (my bro)

5 April - Fortnight Club @ The Camden Head - Excellent night of new material hosted by Logan Murray, featuring Markus Birdman, Jon Torrens, some strange drag queen, Tony Law, Alistair Barrie and our very own Johnny Candon. I got to play with Tony Law's lovely puppies - one of which was called Bertie. (picture to follow)

6 April - Oram & Meeten's Club Fantastico.
Oram & Meeten are fantastico. As are lovely Justin Edwards, crisp-eating Neil Edmonds and the "one and only" Waen S.

7 April - Bright Young Things
I love Marek Larwood. He is brilliant. I also love Mark Watson. They both have first names beginning with M.

8 April - Jonathan Ross recording
To see Aqualung. I think we all know my thoughts on my favourite band.

9 April - work and then drinks with Waen, Katie, Tom, Julia, Nick, Nick's fiance (I've forgotten her name but she was really nice and reminded me of Alyson Hanigan)

10 April - Stewart Lee & Alex Horne @ Amused Moose Soho.
Who the hell is Christine Edwards. And why is she compering the Moose on a weekend night?! Bemusing.

11 April - Visited Alison, Andy and baby Henry. (photo to follow)

12 April - Fully intended to see the Hollow Men at the H&C but accidentally got drunk and went to Pizza Express instead.

13 April - night off.

14 April - Gareth Tunley @ Albany
I liked his CV advice. A lot. I am going to have a picture of a cow doing a twirl on mine.

15 April - Priorite a Gauche @ Albany
Again with Justin Edwards (hello.. ) and Waen S

16 April - tonight... dinner with Katie/Waen and then to my spritual home (BAC) to see the actor Simon MacFarnaby.

BREAKING NEWS (well not really, I've known for about a week)
After months of campaigning my parents have given in and are getting a power shower installed. BRING IT ON!!!

Will blog again soon. Helping my dad put the Ikea kitchen together tomorrow and then cheering Janice on at the J2O final on Sunday.
