I have spent the morning making badges of my soon to be favourite Edinburgh shows as part of one of our fantsatic Comedy Lounge plans for the festival.

So far I have made the following badges
Tim Key's Luke & Stella
Alex Horne
Jeremy Lion
Stewart Lee

There will be more to come, many more, but I need the images on my mac so I can shrink them down to the right dimensions and change the dpi. I am very clever indeed. Getting quite excited about the whole thing now. I am planning to drive up in Tony Tonytoné on the 31st July/1 August - maybe make a night's stop at Nottingham to see little Dan, and then onto Newcastle where I am staying with my Uncle for a few nights. Then I am leaving Tony in the safety of my Uncle's tiny village and he is going to drive me up probably on 4th Aug which is when Sharon is arriving and also when we get the keys to our flat. He said he'd pick me up too so that'll be the easiest return from Edinburgh ever. No lugging more bags than I can carry to the station or getting the bus to pick up a car. I'll be chauferred to Newcastle then waited on hand and foot for a few days before driving Tony back down to London (if I can get an extra few days off that is). I am really looking forward to it.

I have my gym induction today. I postponed it about 5 times and nearly had to again today but I've moved it forward to 1pm. I've got my XFM twisted X t-shirt and funky tracky bottoms and my trainers so I may as well. I'm still not really planning on using the gym but with only about 2.5 weeks til the Race For Life I think a few goes on the running machine would probably be a good idea. See how long the whole nightmare is going to last.

Supposed to be meeting people from old work tonight but its Liverpool street and I am lazy. Do want to so I might pop over and get the last train home from Cannon st which ridiculously is about 7.30pm. Fell asleep fully clothed during the Boosh last night and woke up at midnight slightly confused. Not that I don't have Electro on tape but its nice to watch them as they go out. Its my own fault for getting under my duvet.

Phil & Janice's show the other night was great. Very much work in progress but I am really looking forward to seeing it finished. We kind of worked out the football score as the show progressed cos every so often there would be loud cheering and thunderous applause coming from upstairs. Managed to catch England's last two goals after the show so that was ace. Nice to see the lovely Kerry Howard again. (Hi Kez!)

I don't think I have anything else of any interest just now. Not that the above was all that thrilling.

I stole this from Sharon. Its brilliant. Give it a go.

Susie T's bits are best described as her "exquisite depot".

Festival time

Fringe tickets went on sale today and we have made the following purchases.

4 August (day we arrive)
Jeremy Lion
Richard Herring
Gary Le Strange

7 August
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

22 August
Mark Watson's Overambitious 24-hour Show

We will also be buying...
Stewart Lee, Lee Mack, Nice Mum, Bad Play & Trap tickets in the very near future.

Its all very exciting now. Sharon and I decided that what we're really looking forward to the most is our flat and seeing each other for the first time in what will be nearly 5 months. Our flat is stupidly central and we have already been bandying dinner invites about. Especially since I have learnt how to make Toad in the Hole and Cheese on Toast. That's right. Look impressed.

Spend the weekend drinking and not getting much sleep. Went to the same club in Soho we went to for Noel's birthday and again I took a turn for the worse and would have happily slept there all night. It's a really cool club but I've not lasted more than 30 mins yet. Saturday was Dan's birthday which was nice. Waen and Katy came along so it was nice to see them and insist that Edinburgh isn't ever usually a millionth as distressing as it was for all of us last year. Gary Le Strange is going to be even better this year, although I fail to see how that will be possible. I am mostly looking forward to Jeremy Lion's strained singing and also The Trap - which sounds (and looks) like its going to be really special. (Not as in special needs, obviously).

We are both going to be totally skint this year but at least I have the novelty of not having to quit my job and actually having a really nice job to come home to. And I'll be working during the festival so its doubly exciting. We might even be doing a spot of moonlighting! And the new issue of the Lounge *will* be up before the festival. We have 4 excellent interviews to put up. Honest. No, really.

Think I am off to see Phil & Janice tonight instead of the football. I hope we win. And I hope P&J are funny to make up for me missing it... I can't imagine Phil ever not being funny so I reckon I'll be ok.

Hopefully going to see the third Harry Potter film this week. I am so fickle. When the first one came out I insisted on going to the previews at the Odeon Leicester Square then totally missed the second one at the cinema. I'm not really any good on films though. Unless they're funny or I'm not really interested.

I am boring myself again.

Secret

We think Aqualung are going to be playing in Edinburgh during the festival. Supporting Dido. I'm not prepared to stand amongst all the Dido-loving non-Aqualung-loving idiots just for 30 mins of heaven. It's not fair. I am going to email their management and ask that they do a gig elsewhere perhaps the next night. Or earlier on in the day just to warm up or something. Did I say I saw lovely Ben Hales on the concourse of Charing X last week? Well I did.

Very restless today. Staying at Kerry's tonight. We are watching 7 episodes of the Boosh. Bring it on.

I've fantastically realised that I haven't really blogged since the end of April so I am going to recount what I've been up to but more to refresh my memory and to trigger flashbacks so I get a fuller picture.

On Mon 3 May I got a call from one of the production co-ordinators asking if I wanted to fill in for a runner for the day and help out on the shoot so I leapt at the chance and she told me I had to be in Croydon at 8am the next morning. Jeez. So I hopped on a bus the next day and met everyone in the Hogshead. It was a really fun day which then led onto the day after so I had 2 days of bonding with everyone on the production - which is how I know Poppy who I now consider one of my best chums. And what's more I got drenched on the first day and had to buy a new pair of jeans (narrow leg cos I couldn't find any flares in the 30 min break I had) and they are now my favourites. I got a credit on the closing titles too under Production Team. Yay - how exciting.

That night I met John and Seb at the Hen and Chickens to see Luke & Stella, which I have been raving about since the Sunday after my bday (21 Jan). It was brilliant, they loved it and I was very proud. Not that it had anything at all to do with me. The next night we went to see Alex Horne and Tim Key and again my comedy knowledge and talent spotting abilities were bowed down to.

Thursday was the wrap party for one of the productions and was ace. Was also Paul from the Trap's birthday. Poppy, Carolyn and I somehow ended up back in the office at 1am drinking Stella then went onto the Phoenix to drink lemonade. Stayed the night in a flat which did not belong to me....

Friday I got to work at 11.15am totally wrecked and hungover. Was told to come in late cos I had done such a good job with the party. (I love my job). Then I was told to go and lie down on the sofa. (I love my job). Was supposed to see Franz Ferdinand later on that evening - and at a really small venue - but I sold my ticket to my friend and went straight home and fell asleep half way through eating dinner.

I think I spent most of the weekend at home feeling worse for wear and a bit sorry for myself.

On Monday 10 May I went to see Keane at the Astoria and what an incredible gig it was. We got a promo copy at work the week before and I listened to it all weekend cos I'd worn a hole in both of their singles. I was quite shocked at just how many of the words I knew. They were totally brilliant and just so thrilled to be playing the Forum when they were playing the Bull and Gate down the road literally a matter of months ago. Bless them. They are very young.

Tuesday - Saw Ardal O'Hanlon at the Hen & Chicks. He was great. Went with Johnny and Ian so got to meet Ardal after. He asked if I was a comedian too. I said no. Cos I'm not. I sensibly refrained from telling him about mine and Sharon's visit to the Father Ted parochial house back in March.

Wednesday - Went to Pearshaped at Fitzrovia with Seb. Steve Oram was the only good act on. The rest was an embarassment. We left in the interval. There was a certain charm to the whole night though. If I'd been with Sharon I think we'd have stayed the whole way through. One of the acts reckoned he's seen me about Edinburgh. That worries me. I have no idea who he is. And I know pretty much every act on the circuit. By name or face at least.

Thursday - Went to see the Delays with my new friend Dan. They were ok. We were right at the back upstairs. We just wanted to go back to the pub and trounce everyone on the Pepsi chart machine.

Friday - fairly uneventful.

Sat - Had lunch with Sal in Clapham and then went to North London to have dinner with Poppy and Carolyn. We drank wine on Poppy's roof terrace. And we ate pitta bread and humous. Stayed at Carolyn's.

Sunday - drove to Iain's for small gathering and sunday lunch. We all drove to the park and laid about like the bunch of teenagers that we used to be. I love my uni mates, they are very cool indeed.

Monday - Michelle and I laid down our vocals on the soon to be No 1 smash "Born in England" - at Regents Park open air theatre. It was much fun and we are in the accompanying video. Blink and you'll miss us. We got free England Twisted X t-shirts. XFM rocks.

Tuesday - Episode 1 of The Mighty Boosh on BBC3 - "KIlleroo" After it had aired we uploaded our essay to the Boosh site.

Wednesday - My Ross Noble gig at UCL. I booked it all on my own and did the promo etc. I am great. Ross was sensational. Adrian P was support who was really really great. Josie Long/Matt Hollis/Simon Amstell in the centre section. One of my best nights methinks. And my last solo venture. H is back for the next one when the next university year arrives. So I will revert back to being her trusty helper. Johnny turned up to get free beer. He owes me. Lovely Karl P was there too. Stupidly went to Point 101 after the gig but managed to leave in time to get *a* train to somewhere close by to my home.

Thurs - Drinks after work, pizza express followed by Roller Disco!! It was a lot of fun but not quite as much as the first time. Maybe its better if you have someone to flirt with ..?! Poppy didn't show up either and Carolyn was in Glasgow. Kerry, Mark, Belinda and I had fun though. Two annoying blokes grabbed hold of Kerry's and my hands and wizzed us around the super-speedy dance floor which was pretty terrifying and meant that once they let go and we were skating on our own steam, we were going really bloody slowly and it was all a bit boring. The music was no-where near as good as when Dee and Sue DJd last time. We all planned to go skating in Hyde park the following weekend but that kind of fell by the wayside.

Friday was Poppy's last day at work and also tied in with Noel and Paul's birthday - which they share. Probably not just with each other. We started at the Atlantic Bar and then at about 10pm wandered to the Soho Theatre bar where it was a who's who of the Boosh and minor comedy celebrities. Continued to drink champagne and wine and then we all went round the corner to a really cool club which was great. Until Poppy got me a Smirnoff ice and stuck a straw in it and made me down it. Things went very much downhill from there. I hate to admit it but I was "unwell" in a wheelie bin. Its very hard being ill when you are trying not to laugh. To be honest it just made the night even funnier. And if any of my many secret admirers are reading this then please don't let that put you off. You've either got class or you haven't. I have but that all goes out the window after a few bottles of wine.

Saturday I staggered home from Poppy's, had a shower, slept and then went to meet Kerry in Shepherds Bush for the Supergrass gig. IT was fantastic. We ended up at the barrier and at the end two VERY young BOYS asked if they could buy us a drink. I instinctievly said "no, sorry we have to go" and with that one short sentence probably destroyed their confidence. They were VERY young. Even too young for Kerry. And she is much younger than me. I feel like such a patronising old woman.

Monday/Tues 24/25 May
All the going out hit me and I stayed in.

Wed - worked late. We had pizzas while we worked. (I love my job).

Thurs - Screening party for one of the productions. ANd what a great night it was. I was in charge of going round and pouring champagne and schmoozing. Managed to schmooze the delectable Robert Popper who promised a COmedy Lounge exclusive interview come September when the new series of Look Around You goes into production. Also the lovely Adam Buxton and the lovely David Buxton were onto me for badges. I knew people would love them. Well done me. Had a nice chat with them both. What a lovely pair of Buxtons they are. Adam was talking about the Adam & Joe DVD and i think I did well at confining the squealing and shrieking to just inside my own head. Professional at all times.

Fri - Got to work at gone noon and nobody seemed to mind. In fact, everyone laughed at me for wearing my sunglasses all day. Can I help it if it's bright inside the office? Was supposed to meet up with Paul for interview but luckily he cancelled. I went home to sleep and think about what I had done.

Quiet weekend as far as I can remember. Went into work on Saturday to do the work I didn't do on the Friday and, oh yes, its all coming back to me, went drinking accidentally with Dan and then insisted on watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I can be very demanding sometimes.

Didn't leave the house for the rest of the bank holiday weekend. Oh no, that's a lie. Went to Camden Underworld on monday night to see Bell X1 who I love. Suzanne loves them too. We fancy the lead singer and the guitary man.

Tuesday I blagged us into the Supergrass gig at Islington Academy and this time we were again at the barrier but directly in Gaz's eye line. Rar. Kate Moss and Sadie Frost were down at the side of the stage. Kate Moss is v beautiful. That must help with her job.

Wed - Lovely Johnny got lovely Duncan to let me see Ricky Gervais for free. Haven't laughed so embarassingly loudly for so long for ages. He was incredibly funny. Robin Ince was great too. I thought I was going to faint from caffeine overdose and lack of water and food.

Thursday night was the the Goodbye Hollow Men party. It was much fun and I had an in depth conversation with Dave Hollow Man about blogs and the hazards and pitfalls. Drank a lot of wine and did some gossiping and dancing with Michelle, Zena and Janice. Also I would like to say that Alex Kirk is fantastic. Not like that. But he's really very nice indeed. I don't remember much else from after that night. I remember trying to persuade everyone individually to sneek off round the corner to the Roller Disco. There was some interest but I failed in my quest. I think I remember watching Look Around You and laughing a bit too much everytime I saw...

I used to do such technically elaborate programmes on my Commodore 64 back in the dark ages. I must stop drinking so much. It'll ruin my 5k running time. LIke I care.

Friday was Sausage Night at the BAC. It was great. Couldn't hear much and managed to spot a convicted p@edophile and a suspected one so that sort of sent me a bit loopy. Saw Stew and said hello and he said "I still need to invoice you." There's a phrase I never thought I'd her my comedy hero say to me. Am top comedy booker. Taped Peter Baynham but I was mildly disappointed that it was all material over 10 years old. Went home and slept til about noon the next day.

Stayed in Saturday so as not to be hung over for lunch on...

Sunday interviewed Paul and made him tell me about the Boosh for 5 hours then went home. As well you know.

Has anyone actually made it to the end of all this nonsense... well done if you have done it without falling asleep.
I think you'd better sit down, I have some shocking news.

I have just joined a gym. That's right. I'll say it again, I've just joined a gym. I've been thinking about it for a very long time but when I walked past a gym the other day which said it had a swimming pool I was sold. That's the only form of exercise I tend to do these days and that's only at the weekends when the thought actually crosses my mind. It's a really little pool but it has one of those jetstreams which you can continually swim against, which is frankly more exciting than an olympic size swimming pool as far as I am concerned.

And after the past month of reverting back to the old sauce and feeling generally quite tired and as if control of my life is gradually slipping away from me, today I went in to ask about their special offer and look at the pool. Luckily cos I don't start work til 10am I can get an earlier train and use the pool when its really quiet. The man said 9-10am is practically dead and also around 2.30pm and then around 7pm - what fantastic working hours I have (and a fantastic job too).

So I've paid £25 joining fee until the end of June and then it is £60 a month and I can use the pool/gym/sauna/classes whenever I like. And it is literally a 1 minute walk from work. It's probably just in time too cos I have for some reason signed myself up for the Race For Life - a Breast Cancer thing - at Blackheath on 11 July. It's only a 5k run but as far as I can remember it used to take me a good while to run the 1500m at school so I am aiming to run/walk it in under an hour. If you see me around and about before then please grab me cos I'll have my sponsorship form on me and it would be lovely if you could give me some cash to send the Breast people.

So far I've raised about £80 which isn't bad cos that's just from work and there are only a few of us here. I am kind of looking forward to it - I have a running number and everything so there's no backing out now. I have an induction at the gym on Friday lunchtime where the instructor is going to draw me out a training programme but the gym doesn't really interest me at all.

So in light of my new regime I'd like to apologise to anyone I might have been a little bit too drunk around. It won't happen again - for a while. Until Edinburgh. Although it is Poppy's birthday at the weekend... No. I need to save cash.

For the first time since managing to clear my university debts I am into my overdraft which is pretty bloody depressing. And I worked out that I pay £639 out of my wages every month before I even get to spend any on nice shiny things. And now we can add another £60 to that for the gym. How depressing. I'm never going to be able to afford to move out. Although if I move close enough I can forget about the £140 I spend on the train every month... So now my more realistic target for moving out is before the end of the year. I presume the festival is going to leave me even more skint - and our flat balance is due om 3 weeks time. And relax.

If anyone has texted or called me today and thinks I'm ignoring them, I'm not. My battery has died again - my charger is in my bedroom so that's another good reason for me not to go out tonight and to just toddle straight on home.

The Pleasance programme is online and also the Chortle Fringe listings which is incredibly exciting. The shows I am most looking forward to seeing are as follows.

Jeremy Lion's Happy Birthday
Simon Munnery's AGM
Stewart Lee
Alex Horne and Luke & Stella (I have seen these already and both will be getting top marks but Sharon hasn't and she must).
Gary Le Strange
Bad Play 2 - Worser Play
Chris Addison/ John Oliver/ Andy Zaltzman
Marcus Brigstocke
Milton Jones
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Paul Tonkinson

And loads others. We have a special brilliant plan for our Edinburgh viewing this year which means nothing will clash, we won't be late for anything and we should get to see pretty much everything we want to see. I'm not telling you what it is though. We've been saying for years that we'd do it and now we really are. Hooray.

Things are very exciting.

On Sunday I had lunch with lovely Paul who brilliantly directed The Mighty Boosh. He is almost as big a Boosh fan as me but I think I officially hold the title of No 1 fan and have done since the late 90s. No-one will ever surpass me. The website is going from strength to strength and our total obsession for all things Boosh has been reawakened. Paul told me lots of facts and things I'm not sure if I can yet/ever share with the group but needless to say I was on the phone to Sharon for about 2 hours later on that evening, trying to recount every tiny detail. I saw story boards, scripts... yes, look impressed. "Look at them shine!" Mr. Susan rules ok. Must bring that up with Noel and Julian next time I see them - the strange metamorphosis of Mr. Susan - from a man with strawberries all over his head and bananas on his hands to the guardian of the mirror-world made of dusters and cloths with shiny mirror balls which he likes to spray with cold windowlene...

That is all for now. I'm back into the swing of things now and I'll try and write every day again. Very happy today.

Yeah yeah yeah

So its been a while since I last blogged, but I have been incredibly busy enjoying myself and going out as often as possible. Isn't life great!?

Anyway, all I am here for is so I can post up my schedule for the next while so my partner in kryme knows what I am up to. So here goes...

Tues 1 - Supergrass - XFM gig @ Islington academy then home to upload dissertation on latest episode of The Mighty Boosh - "Tundra"

Wed 2 - Possibly seeing Ricky Gervais

Thurs 3 - Hollow Men leaving drinks - this will involve drinking numerous flavoured vodkas with some choice members of the sketch comedy fraternity.

Fri 4 - Sausage Night @ The BAC with my work chums.

Sat 5 - Maybe going to see The Ministry of Mayhem live in person...

Mon 7 - My first UK single is to be released. "Born In England" by Twisted X features myself and Michelle from IAFS/Etc... so go and buy it and make us no. 1 recording artists!! You can preorder it from Amazon.

Tues 8 - Graham Coxon @ Electric Ballroom followed by "Jungle" episode of the Mighty Boosh which is fantastically amazing.

Then my only other plans are Thurs 10 - hopefully receive Fringe brochure through the post and officially commence the countdown to the festival. Which, incidentally, I am being paid to go to. Rock On!!!
